The New England Etching & Plating Company was incorporated in 1931 in the midst of our country’s Great Depression. Established from the onset as a manufacturer of high-end etched, lithographed and plated products the company prospered and grew throughout the 30’s enlarging both its customer base and eventually purchasing a larger manufacturing facility in Holyoke, Massachusetts.
By the 40’s our resources and expertise in Etching and Printing were being redirected to meet the needs of the War Department. This relationship was the beginning of what would become a vital area of expertise, compliance with military specifications, standards and regulations. The New England Etching Company’s relationship with the Department of Defense and a solid and diversified industrial base continued to mature. Throughout the subsequent decades the company’s dual focus on technology and quality systems prompted advancements in every aspect of the business. Beginning in the 70’s a second generation of the Foerster and Miesch families were steering the company’s growth forward. Major investments that doubled the size of the manufacturing facility, added a new stockroom and developed an eco-friendly waste water treatment facility laid the groundwork for future expansion. By the end of the decade the computer revolution was transforming infrastructure throughout the office and support systems. Production departments were being transformed by Computer Aided Design and Manufacturing. The traditional art department had been replaced with a state-of-the art prepress department. Production in general could efficiently and cost-effectively accommodate both large and small production runs. “NEE Rapid Response Teams” have been implemented to accommodate extraordinary situations or the most demanding Just-In-Time inventory systems. As the millennium came to a close and a third generation of committed owners and managers were assuming their responsibilities, the company’s commitment to quality to meet and exceed customer expectations brought ISO-9001 and AS-9100 Certifications to fruition.
Throughout our long history and through the many changes that the New England Etching Company has successfully navigated there has been one simple but very powerful philosophy that has endured and is the core of every action and decision made at NEE. Provide complete customer satisfaction, exceptional customer service, hard work and commitment and the prosperity and security will follow.
We welcome the opportunity to put our team to work for you.
“Without continual growth and progress, such words as improvement, achievement and success have no meaning.” Benjamin Franklin
